Our programs stretch far beyond the golf course. We have programs designed for physical education classes in schools, after-school programs, and community centers! With these programs, we bring the equipment, training and lesson plans to you! We’ll introduce the game of golf with easy to use equipment while seamlessly integrating lessons in core values and healthy habits essential to a successful future. Check out our options below to see what best fits your needs!

First Tee Community Program

We believe our values extend beyond the golf course, which is why we launched a program to meet youth where they spend time. Specifically designed for youth-serving organizations, like the Y and the Boys & Girls Club, First Tee’s Community Program gives kids the chance to learn about golf and develop character through fun golf games.

Whether your organization can visit one of our local programming locations or if all programming is performed on site, we have the flexibility to meet the needs of your organization. Our program can be conducted both outdoors and indoors within a variety of spaces. Our coaches are trained to adapt to whatever environment comes their way!

Ready to coach on your own? We supply the curriculum, the equipment and the training for youth leaders to deliver the program. Much like our other programs, First Tee’s Community Program is designed to introduce kids to golf and First Tee’s Nine Core Values — respect, courtesy, responsibility, honesty, sportsmanship, confidence, judgment, perseverance, and integrity.

Our Curriculum:

We wrote our lesson plans and activity guides with youth development professionals and volunteer leaders in mind. First Tee’s Community Program is a hole-in-one for any setting, class time, and class size.

Our lesson plans introduce youth to golf through activities that resemble sports they may already be familiar with, like baseball, football, bowling, and tennis. Instructors receive an activity guide that includes:

  • 18 detailed activity plans
  • Information section explaining teaching methods
  • Safety and class management procedures
  • Instructional cue cards
  • Golf terms

First Tee School Program

In elementary schools in our community and across the United States, many students are teeing off for the first time thanks to the First Tee School Program, bringing our curriculum to your child’s gym during physical education class. By teaching elementary students The First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits, we’re putting them on the course to a healthy and active lifestyle.

The First Tee School Program gives gym teachers and physical educators the tools to get started. We provide the training, junior golf lesson plans, and equipment.

Our mission:

  • Create a safe introduction to golf for today’s students and teachers.
  • Ensure that golf education meets the same national standards developed by the Society for Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).
  • Help students build character and confidence through the positive personal and social values associated with the game.
  • Show students that golf can be a great part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Make the positive values of golf a part of the classroom and students’ everyday lives.

We’ve also introduced a new, one-of-a-kind school-based practice facility located on the campus of Fort Worth ISD’s Edward J. Briscoe Elementary School that gives students at Briscoe and 11 other area schools access to the full programming of First Tee — Fort Worth during their physical education classes, after school and during the summer.
